Medbelle

Senior Product Manager (Patient Journey OR Care Processes)

Full-Time in Berlin, DE - Senior - Product

Hi there!

My name is Benjamin and I am the Head of Product here at Medbelle, where it is our mission to build the first digital hospital.

As you know, the healthcare system can often be inefficient, disorganised and overstretched. Its complicated administrative processes contribute largely to its struggle to keep up with rapidly advancing technology, resulting in bad experiences for both patients and healthcare professionals alike.

As the first digital hospital, we rebuild the healthcare experience from scratch to provide a level of care that we would love to experience ourselves. Backed by renowned international investors, we are providing high-quality care to an ever-growing number of patients in the UK with a simple value proposition: Access the best surgeons and unparalleled service at affordable prices.

Patient-centric product management in healthcare

Having started in self-pay surgery, we are truly patient-focused and operate similar to many other consumer technology companies. Because we organise the entire patient journey from research to surgery and aftercare, we are in a position to make every interaction along this path functional, performant and delightful.

To do so, we build technology for our patients to manage their journey and for our surgeons, hospitals and staff to enable them to provide high-quality care in a highly effective manner.

We believe in building products that our users love. To enable that, we have a small but world-class in-house engineering team who are experts in their field and work with the usual lean and agile software development methodologies to ensure quick and data-driven iteration. Now, we need you: We are looking for an experienced and driven Product Manager to join our team.

What you will do:

  • A) Focus Patient Journey
    • As Product Manager “Patient Journey” you are responsible for improving the patient experience throughout their treatment journey
    • You investigate what is important to them, how they make decisions and how this differs across user segments
    • You balance the needs of internal and external stakeholder against business priorities to establish our patient-facing product roadmap
    • You are responsible for translating your product roadmap into a feature backlog and maintaining it
    • You work very closely with Engineering and Design, as well as all other involved stakeholders (patients, care teams and Marketing) to define the requirements for features, translate them into user stories and ensure a flawless implementation
  • OR B) Focus Care Processes
    • As Product Manager “Care Processes” you are responsible for automating and scaling processes to deliver care and coordinate various stakeholders of the treatment journey
    • You understand and document a variety of care delivery processes and understand the needs of all stakeholders involved (surgeons, admin staff, care teams)
    • You identify the biggest levers of the processes on operational KPIs and prioritise them to establish our internal and provider-facing product roadmap
    • You are responsible for translating your product roadmap into a feature backlog and maintaining it
    • You work very closely with Engineering and Design, as well as all other involved stakeholders (care teams, surgeons and hospital staff) to define the requirements for features, translate them into user stories and ensure a flawless implementation

What you bring to the table:

  • You are experienced. You have worked directly with engineers as a Product Manager (!) for 4 years
  • You have built products that people choose to use. Not products people have to use
  • You have demonstrated your ability to effectively manage stakeholders
  • You are data-driven. You base your decisions on data, know how to access and analyse it (SQL & analytic tools are not new to you) and how to formulate and validate hypotheses
  • You prioritise accordingly. There are a million ways to make the healthcare experience better - where do you start?
  • You are collaborative. We solve problems together, so we are looking for team players not mercenaries
  • You are passionate about healthcare. Experience in the healthcare space is a plus
  • You understand business levers and have experience conducting user research
  • You work agile. You have experience with scrum or other agile project management methodologies
  • You know how startups roll. You have learned that through significant work experience in a startup environment
  • It is a plus if your background is in business, software design or engineering
  • You are fluent in English

What we offer you:

  • This is an opportunity to take a key role in one of Berlin’s most successful healthcare startups and grow with the company
  • This job will give you a great amount of freedom and ownership to build a product that makes a big dent in the healthcare space and will significantly improve people’s lives starting the first time you deliver a feature
  • You will work on real and challenging problems with smart people who care
  • We do stuff together - join the Medbelle family if you love Friday beers, team dinners and impeccable office banter
  • And of course the most important stuff. A constant supply of coffee, fruits and regular team lunches power you while you reinvent healthcare. Oh, and we have English tea, lots of English tea.
  • A competitive salary

What the crew is like and why I love working here:

Our Medbelle family is a small and truly international team (80%+ internationals). We pride ourselves on an absolutely great team spirit and a joint focus on providing unparalleled service with an emphasis on numbers and growth. But what I love most about working for Medbelle is the honest desire to help improve the experiences of our patients - that’s what keeps us motivated and driven.

Benjamin
